Adventures of Lex

Well, our little guy has been busy lately. :)

He had a photo shoot with mom, who decided to put him in a Mickey Mouse outfit that Lance and I had set aside for him. He did pretty well, despite my amateur skills, and enjoyed making crazy faces instead of smiling.
Seemingly intrigued by things, or maybe just concerned how he looks in his Mickey Mouse ear hat

I swear right before I took this one, he was smiling/almost laughing, then he got upset and I snagged this face

My handsome boy :)

He was a pretty good sport about being propped up and molded and changed and having the flash go off in his face. He's just an awesome kid.

Two Saturdays ago, Lance and I took the little man out for a picnic at Bridal Veil Falls. We sat in the grass, and played games. Lex's getting pretty good at sitting and standing and really enjoyed just sitting on mom's lap and checking things out. To be honest, we may have over stimulated him with all the noises and sights, but he had fun.

Then as we were heading home from the picnic, we stumbled onto a fire that just started burning not too far from our home on the mountain, and drove to a park to watch two helicopters gather water to dump on the flames. Lex was amazing and didn't cry or get scared despite how loud and noisy the helicopters were flying right over us. It was exciting to see them fly to an open field in the park, and lower their buckets into filled pools then fly away to pour the water on the flames.

But I'm not the only one who enjoys playing around with our kid. Lance is teaching Lex the proper way to wear hats. :)

It may be a little big.... :)

Then last Saturday Lance and I took Lex to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. They opened a new exhibit with a polar bear and lots of seals. Thankfully it was a bit overcast, so it wasn't too hot and we got to enjoy walking around showing Lex all the animals. We saw the baby elephant, and polar bear swim around, and even saw a bird show with an impressive eagle and a HUGE owl. We sat right in front of the box with the owl and as it flew over us, we felt the wind impact from its wings.

Check out his huge talons

The Zoo is awesome! But I'd rather check out mom

But right now, besides being the most "smiley" baby we know, and being super happy, Lex's favorite thing to do right now in nap safely in the crook of Lance's arm. He loves it.

Ah, who doesn't love a Sunday nap!
