Well, I slacked off a bit, so here's a quick update on our little man.
Lex has been walking solidly with no help since he was 11 months. It's just crazy. He just toddles around following me or exploring in his own. It's adorable to watch him follow me, or squeal and laugh and go faster when he's being chased.
He's got six teeth! His first bottom tooth made an appearance late March and they keep showing up. He's not really whiney about it and for the first tooth he was downright adorable and happy. Now when he eats he likes to pick it up with his hands and feed himself. He loves goldfish and yogurt bites. So far he doesn't care for bread, but we're working on it. As far as baby food goes he definitely prefers vegetables to fruits, like his daddy.
His bedtime routine is really simple and pretty easy. He goes down about 10/10:30, which I know is late but that way he gets to see dad for a bit before going to bed. We "put the house to bed first" - which means we turn lights off, get his bed ready, change him into a fresh diaper and play quiet games or talk softly to calm Lex down. Then Lex gets wrapped up, and hugged and kissed by Dad and me, then I take him into his room, sit in our rocking chair, and give him a bottle. While he drinks I hum (singing makes him more alert) some songs - "Here comes the Sandman", "Stay Awake", and "I'm a Child of God." Then once he's finished I put him in bed, close the door, and that's it.
That's all for now. Gotta make sure I get this one out before I forget.
